Used PD Sabre 3 Canopies for Sale

The Sabre 3 is one of the most popular intermediate skydiving parachutes available. It based on the proven Sabre 2 convincing with better openings, rear riser performance, harness sensitivity and has a powerful flare. It has a relatively steep glide and long recovery arc making it a great option for getting into high-performance canopy piloting before progressing to a fully-elliptical high-performance canopy.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Sabre 3 and the Safire 3/4 are both great options for intermediate skydivers. They are both suitable for beginners as a first own parachute when flown in a larger size but allow you to progress into more high performance canopy piloting when loaded higher. Both canopies feel amazing when flying and have great flare power. The Safire 3 and Safire 4 have better (and longer) openings as JYRO canopies are generally known for having better openings compared to PD canopies. Additionally they fly more relaxed and have better range while still feeling responsive and crisp. However, the Sabre 3 as well as the Sabre 2 have a steeper trim and longer recovery arc which is more suitable if you are looking to get into swooping. Many skydivers even progress on the Sabre Platform down to very small canopies and then directly make the switch to high-performance cross-braced canopies.

The Sabre 3 kept the essence of the Sabre 2 while improving on its weak points: more consistent openings, better rear riser performance, more harness sensitivity and an even stronger flare. For most skydivers the difference is noticeable but not fundamental, so a well-priced Sabre 2 can still be a great deal. You find the full comparison in the FAQ on our Sabre 2 page.
