Trackingsuits function similarly to wingsuits by increasing the jumper’s surface area and therefore enabling them to fly with a higher glide ratio. Other than wingsuits, tracking suits do not fix the arms and allow for more range of motion in case of complications but do not increase the glide ratio as much as wingsuits do. There exist two-piece and one-piece tracking suits, where the one-piece tracking suit is more advanced and has a larger positive effect on the glide ratio. They are especially popular in BASE jumping as they can improve tracking performance and separation from the wall without the added complexity of wingsuits.
