PD and JYRO are leading canopy manufacturers worldwide and dominate the canopy piloting competition scene. JYRO is loved for good openings, efficient glide, good harness sensitivity and beautiful designs. PD is known for longer recovery arcs, responsive canopies and great flare power. The decision ultimately comes down to what you prefer and feels good for you.

The two companies split off the former “Icarus Canopies” brand. JYRO (NZ Aerosports) rebranded and continued the product lineup such as the Safire and Crossfire. JYRO is based in New Zealand. Icarus World is based in Spain and produces similarly named analogue models such as the SFire and XFire. Nevertheless, the models should not be confused as they are different canopies.
